Owo is a city in Ondo State, Nigeria, located in the southwestern part of the country. It is known for its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant communities. Today, the city is an important agricultural center that produces many products, such as yams, cassava, cocoa beans, and palm oil.
The Igogo Festival of Owo, the most celebrated cultural event in Owo Kingdom, is famous for its display of the rich African culture of Owo. It is an annual event that attracts thousands of tourists from around the world.

The Igogo Festival features several activities, such as music and dance, masquerade showcases, traditional wrestling competitions, and other attractions. Attendees can expect to be captivated by the color and vibrancy of the event as well as the elaborate costumes, as the chance of watching beautifully dressed dancers move to traditional music is high. Masquerades are also an important part of the festival, with elaborate costumes that showcase different animals or mythical creatures.
The festival typically takes place in August or September each year and lasts for several days.
